Christmas Time Is Here

We hit Christmas early this year with the release of the Repeat the Sounding Joy CD, but then stalled a bit through Thanksgiving because of our travels, Rob finishing the semester, the upcoming Christmas Sing-A-Long at our church, daily life, etc., etc. I do love Christmas though so wanted to at least get some decorations and our tree up so we could enjoy everything before we travel again over Christmas. At first I thought we would have to wait until Rob started his school break (11 days to go!) to go and get a tree, but a friend told us about a nursery close by that sells live trees so we were able to go yesterday afternoon. Last year I think Liam slept through the tree getting process so it was fun this year to take him along. He, of course, was more interested in the gravel and tractors, but at least we got some cute pictures. We met another family at the tree place with a son named Liam (William too!) but he was seven. They offered to take a picture of us too.

Yes, thank you, I will throw rocks.

Par our usual, we are matching
Besides the tree, other decorations are a bit scarce due to one curious little boy, but I did put some pine branches and Christmas balls up on higher shelves. Someday perhaps I will be able to decorate a bit more, but not this year. We immediately had to teach Liam which ornaments he could and could not touch on the tree and put some softer ones down lower for him to touch. His favorite so far is the one from Baby's 1st Christmas last year that has a picture of himself in it...

This time of year always goes by in such a blur, but I hope you will have time to stop and appreciate the coming of Christ in absolute humility as an infant in a stable to die for our sins. And I hope too that Christmas will also help you to long for His return again as the triumphant King of Kings.

Merry Christmas!
